The last two events that wrapped up my time in Kuala Lumpur, were the Ambassadors dinner and IM4U Malaysia visit. On January 13th, my cohort members completed a normal day of orientation activities. Afterwards, we headed to the U.S Ambassador’s home for a welcome dinner honoring the Fulbright ETA’s. This was quite an honor, had me feeling all important and stuff, lol. We were given the opportunity to meet the JPN’s (school district administrators), U.S. State Department workers, and the U.S Ambassador, Kamala Shirin Lakhdhir, herself.
Our last event was visiting the IM4U community center. We learned more about the IM4U program and what their mission is in Southeast Asia. The building was amazing, it is equipped with an assemble hall, exercise and workout building, homestay, cafeteria, a ball pit, and an urban radio station. I was interviewed on live radio, how cool? Not only that, but our photos for this event were shared in several very prominent newspapers in Malaysia. Hey mom and dad, I’m a star.
